Connor meets his Doctor

Connor's pediatrician cancelled again from March 5 th to May 31st. So, I decided that was crazy for him to not see a specialist since being diagnosed with trisomy 21 last November... He was born last August and hasn't seen a pediatrician ...I called another pediatrician last week and got him in for yesterday. So Connor finally got a good check up. I am relived and little less stressed knowing he seems to be fine. I got a copy of his his echocardiogram that he had about 1 month ago after my insistance again. I got a copy of his tests at birth...wow do they ever test them for lots these days -over 17 things...not that I understand everything that they test for...but it was interesting...those tests are for any child born here...the trisomy test wasn't done until age 4 months.I also, got a copy of his confirmation of having trisomy 21.

It was a good appt...now I can keep his records in one place to have easy access to any info in the future. They are going to send me his hospital record too.....other than him being born and waking me up every for hours for food and diapers changes it seemed like he didn't exist...on paper any way:)

His eyes/vision- fine. His ears/hearing - good. He weighs a whopping 12 1/2 pounds...25 inches long....the Dr said he was small but in porportion head, length and body were all ok... so that is good. My other kids were small too.

The Dr. and I had discussions about vaccines and reasons why we are not doing them at this time.He tried to gently arm twist me ...and I left agreeing that if I changed my mind he'd take me on a short notice..I said "an hour"...he said "a half hour" and smiled. I'm happy that appointment finally happened... Connor will be 7 months old tommorrow. ...March the 3rd.
